In 2019, while working at a mental health hospital as a discharge planner and finishing my EMDR hours of training, a fellow therapist offered me a chance to rent a space just one day a week at first. That small step grew into something bigger as the need for mental health services expanded especially when 2020 and the pandemic brought new challenges. As a Puerto Rican, I’ve always understood the growing Hispanic community here in Central Florida, and as a bilingual counselor, I wanted to create a space where everyone feels understood. That’s where Ancora comes in. “Ancora” means anchor, and it reflects both my love for the ocean and the grounding, stabilizing feeling I hope to share with others. My mission is to help you feel anchored just as I feel most grounded by the ocean so you can find stability and growth on your journey.

Mission
At Ancora Counseling and Services, our mission is to provide compassionate, evidence-based mental health care that empowers individuals, couples, adolescents, and families to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience. We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every person feels heard, respected, and understood. As a bilingual practice serving the diverse communities of Central Florida, we strive to make quality mental health services accessible to both English- and Spanish-speaking clients. Inspired by the meaning of our name, Ancora—"anchor"—our goal is to help every client find stability, healing, and hope while building the strength to thrive long after therapy ends.

Vision
Our vision is to be a trusted leader in mental health care throughout Central Florida by fostering a community where seeking therapy is embraced as an act of strength, healing, and personal growth. We envision Ancora Counseling and Services as a place where individuals from all backgrounds feel safe, supported, and empowered to become the healthiest version of themselves. Just as an anchor provides stability through changing tides, we aspire to help every person we serve feel grounded, resilient, and equipped to face life's challenges with confidence and purpose.
